Join us for the continuation of our Middle East series with a discussion on Private Wealth Disputes. This discussion will focus on how HNW clients in the region can undertake planning to manage their wealth and what happens when disputes arises within families or with third parties. It will explore some the pressure points and disputes between professional advisors and families in wealth structuring. It will also look at reputational risks and how they are managed in modern international families.

Jessica Miller - Founder & Director, Strela Advisory, London. Jessica is the founder and director of Strela Advisory limited, a boutique investigations firm founded in 2017. Strela Advisory has three core practice areas: private client, asset tracing & recovery, and dispute support.

Jessica's particular expertise is in the application of investigations to assist private clients from the CIS and Middle East, and their family offices and advisors, in the resolution of legal disputes, addressing threats to reputation, and managing sensitive commercial and personal matters. During the course of her career, she has spent time working in London, Moscow, Dubai, and Italy.

She has an MA Hons in Russian and Italian, and an M.Litt. in Middle East and Central Asian Security Studies, both received from the University of St Andrews. Further to English, Jessica speaks Russian, Italian, Spanish and French. She is currently studying Arabic.

Sunita Singh-Dalal - Of counsel, Stephenson Harwood Middle East, Dubai. Sunita leads the Middle East private wealth practice, where the team focuses on assisting clients in the Middle East, Africa and SouthWest Asia on cross border private client, corporate, commercial and dispute resolution issues. Sunita has established intrinsic relationships with private banks, financial advisers, trustees, corporate service providers and the local regulatory authorities. Sunita actively works with the local regulators to spread awareness in India and the GCC of the latest developments and updates within the private wealth sector, particularly in relation to the new Foundations and Trusts regimes implemented by the ADGM, DIFC and RAK ICC.

As an active member of the private wealth community, Sunita is a full member of STEP (Africa and Arabia) and speaks at various international forums and conferences in the Middle East and SouthWest Asia. Sunita assists clients and advisers with topical matters in the UAE and GCC such as Succession Planning, Wealth Management as well as the implementation of Family Codes of Governance and Family Constitutions. Sunita is widely regarded as a leading authority within the private wealth community, which is reflected through her being recognised by Chambers & Partners High Net Worth Guide 2020 as a ranked individual within the UAE.

Jenny McKeown - Practice Group Leader, Stephenson Harwood, London. Jenny has acted on a number of high profile claims and trust disputes both onshore and offshore. Her experience ranges from advising on technical areas of rectification and construction of trust documentation to applications for disclosure of information and seeking to hold trustees to account. Jenny has particular expertise in professional negligence claims against trustee advisors and representing trustees in fraud proceedings.

Jenny is valued by clients for bringing a commercial and pragmatic approach to complex legal issues. She also has extensive experience of third-party litigation funding and insurance arrangements and recovering assets obtained in breach of trust. Jenny is ranked as a leading individual in Contentious Trust and Probate and Pensions Litigation in Legal 500 UK and as a Notable Practitioner in both in Chambers & Partners UK. She is included in the Private Client Global Elite directory and has recently been ranked in two separate Citywealth lists: the 'Top 10 Power Women Trust Litigators' and 'Top 100 Trust Litigators and Polymaths' where clients and peers described her as "discerning with great acumen, innovation and shrewdness. Quick witted, ingenious and clever". Whilst heading the contentious trust team, Jenny won the Trust and Estates Litigation Team of the Year at Legal Week's Commercial Litigation and Arbitration Awards for her victory last year in the Privy Council in Sachak Khan & Ors v Gany Holdings & Ors (regarding a £100m cross border trust dispute).

She is regularly asked to speak at conferences on topical issues and has written a number of published articles.

Daniel Channing - Director, Family Office Services, Crestbridge, Jersey. Daniel has over 15 years' experience working with global UHNW families and family offices. He has specific expertise supporting HNW families and family offices implement and manage effective family succession planning solutions. Daniel joined Crestbridge from a global private bank where he held responsibility for the Wealth Planning and Advisory services for the LEVANT region.

As a Director, Daniel is key to cementing exceptional and long standing relationships with our families and family office clients and is responsible for ensuring Crestbridge continue to create bespoke strategies to preserve and enhance clients' global asset portfolios and succession plans.

Daniel holds TEP accreditation with STEP and an advanced certification in Family Business Advising.
