In this session we will look at that latest investment trends for international HNW families in East Africa. Barclays East Africa Market Lead, Diaraye Diallo will be in discussion with Henk Potts on the impact of the US election and look forward into 2021. We will be joined by:

Henk Potts - Director of Investment Strategy, Barclays Private Bank, London. Henk joined Barclays Bank in 1998 as a graduate and worked as a Stock Market Analyst for Barclays Stockbrokers, focusing on UK equities, before rising to the position of global Equity Strategist in 2001. In 2009 he was appointed Director of Global Research for Barclays Wealth and Investment Management, where he works as part of a team formulating and communicating investment strategy to internal and external clients.

In his current role, Henk analyses a wide variety of asset classes, including equities, currencies and commodities, as well as ascertaining and explaining the effects of macro-economic changes on financial markets. Based in London, he works in the UK and across a wide range of other jurisdictions including Monaco, Geneva, Cyprus, Bermuda and throughout the Middle East and Africa, where he interacts with private banking and intermediary clients.

Henk is very well known in the media and regularly appears on Sky News, BBC, Bloomberg, CNBC, Channel 4, CNN and Fox News. In addition to television appearances, Henk has numerous radio commitments as an in-house stock market expert, with regular slots on Talksport, LBC, Riviera Radio (Monaco) and World Radio Switzerland. He also writes regular columns for national UK newspapers and personal finance magazines.

Diaraye Diallo - East Africa Market Lead, Barclays Private Bank, London. Diaraye is the East Africa Market Lead for Barclays Private Bank in London. She will moderate the session, host the Q&A and draw out key conclusions.

With 18 years' experience in Investment Banking and Wealth Management, Diaraye is the lead Private Banker for East Africa, in London. After a career in New York, providing capital market solutions to US Municipalities and states, Diaraye joined Barclays in 2010. She initially worked in conjunction with Barclays Africa in delivering Investment Banking and Corporate Banking solutions to private clients and their businesses across Africa.

In recent years, she has been working with Private Clients in East Africa to help them invest and manage their wealth. Diaraye studied at Northeastern University, Boston, and NYU Stern School of Business, New York.
