Join us for a discussion on the highlights from the latest Indian Budget and Considerations for Global Indian Families.  

The discussion will be moderated by Kuntal Dave and feature:

Shreya Rao - Partner, AZB & Partners, Karnataka, India.  Shreya is a tax and private client partner with AZB & Partners.  As co-head of the private client practice at AZB, she assists UHNI business families, entrepreneurs, fund principals and NRIs with a range of requirements including planning for intra-family wealth transfers through trusts and wills, international private client matters, structuring of investments, divestments and philanthropic bequests, acquisition and preservation of luxury assets and family governance. 

The Chambers Asia-Pacific Tax survey reviews her as being "highly regarded for tax restructuring and private wealth planning, as well as advice to non-profit organisations" and recommends her for "thoroughness, attention to detail and preparedness". The Chambers HNW review ranks her as a Band 2 practitioner who: "has an ability to make complicated things sound simple", "puts the client in their comfort zone" and "goes into detail to find solutions". She is a full member (TEP) with STEP and the lead editor for the STEP India Jurisdiction update. She is also an academician with the International Academy of Estate and Trust Law.


Rahul Bajoria - Regional Economist, Barclays Investment Bank, India.  Rahul is a Director and Chief Economist for India and the Antipodeans, based in Mumbai.  He joined Barclays as part of the graduate class of 2009 in Singapore, covering economies across the Asia-Pacific region. 

Prior to joining Barclays, he completed his Master’s Degree in Economics at the National University of Singapore, where his primary focus was on time series econometrics and financial volatility models. Rahul has also worked at INSEAD (Singapore) and NUS Business School, looking at issues around productivity and growth, and last year, he published “The Story of the Reserve Bank of India”, an in-depth history of India’s central bank.


Sunita Singh-Dalal - Of counsel, Stephenson Harwood Middle East, Dubai.  Sunita leads the Middle East private wealth practice, where the team focuses on assisting clients in the Middle East, Africa and SouthWest Asia on cross border private client, wealth management, corporate, commercial and dispute resolution issues. 

As an active member of the private wealth community, Sunita is a full member of STEP (Africa and Arabia) and speaks at various international forums and conferences.  Sunita assists clients and advisers with topical matters in the UAE and GCC such as Succession Planning, Wealth Management as well as the implementation of Family Codes of Governance and Family Constitutions. 

Sunita is widely regarded as a leading authority within the private wealth community, which is reflected through her being recognised by Chambers & Partners High Net Worth Guide 2020 and 2021 as a ranked individual within the UAE.

Sunita has established intrinsic relationships with international private banks, financial advisers, trustees, corporate service providers and the local regulatory authorities.  Sunita actively works with the local regulators to spread global awareness of the latest developments and updates within the Middle East's private wealth sector, particularly in relation to the new Foundations and Trusts regimes implemented by the ADGM, DIFC and RAK ICC.


Hetal Sanghvi - Partner within the Tax team from Edwin Coe, UK.  Hetal has substantial experience in dealing with HMRC investigations, offshore disclosures and providing tax advice to private clients. She has prepared, submitted and negotiated the settlement of numerous cases via the New Disclosure Opportunity, the Liechtenstein Disclosure Facility and other targeted industry or income specific Voluntary Disclosure Facilities, such as the Let Property Campaign.

Hetal’s technical skills and experience allow her to identify tax-efficient planning opportunities for clients as part of the process of assisting clients to regularise their tax affairs. She takes time to get to know clients, their needs and objectives, and ensures they receive high-quality, tailored advice. Clients appreciate her ability to explain complex issues with clarity and she is frequently introduced to clients via offshore financial institutions.

Hetal has a substantial Indian (both resident and non-resident) client base and has worked with many families with multi-jurisdictional investments to review their domicile status, plan for Inheritance Tax and advise on tax-efficient structures that preserve asset bases for future generations.

Hetal works closely to support the services offered by various specialisms within Edwin Coe’s legal divisions. She has been involved in providing comprehensive tax advice on complex transactions by owner managed businesses, employment settlements, property transactions and individuals using the investor visa route to move to the UK. The holistic approach of specialist tax advice in conjunction with legal advice provided by Edwin Coe colleagues is an area Hetal specialises in.

Hetal works with other members of the tax team to provide an extensive range of services, including the preparation of complex tax returns, disclosures under HMRC initiatives, personal tax advice, and tax dispute and investigation services.


Nirav Shah - Founder and Managing Director of Fame Advisory, UAE.  Being an excellent academia, Nirav has secured 6th Rank in Inter CA and 36th rank in CA Finals. He then moved to KPMG in Mumbai and specialized in International Tax and Finance and is advising on various cross border transactions from International and Domestic Tax and Regulatory perspective. His skills help companies set up the right Corporate Holding structure for the group, Evaluation of New Business/Investment Opportunities, Strategic Inputs/Reviews for businesses and Managing Compliance issues.

Nirav has 20 plus years’ experience from own practice to leading a consulting firm to working with a large family-owned corporate group. He has hands-on experience of establishing and managing structures and compliances in more than 12 jurisdictions; evolving suitable corporate structures for holding companies, acquisition of business, financing, and IP optimization structures; establishing suitable family structures for Asset protection, succession planning, efficient ownership, and valuable experience of operating in multiple jurisdictions. 

Nirav had successfully conducted VAT Trainings for Dubai SME, The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) Dubai, Jain International Trade Organization (JITO) Dubai and Indian Business & Professional Council (IBPC) Dubai (to name a few), with a total participant of around 1,600+ Professionals who work from 550+ Companies, coming from the 7 Emirates of UAE (Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah).
