An Interview with Christina Economou

What do you do for Trident Trust?

I am the Business Development Director for Trident Trust in Cyprus. I am involved in creating and developing long term business relationships with clients and professional firms that we work with. I am also responsible for the coordination and implementation of our sales strategy to help grow the business. As part of my responsibilities, I help Trident identify new markets and trends, create new products and service lines, and build strategic partnerships.

What do you love most about your role?

As a people person by nature, I enjoy and appreciate meeting new people and building key relationships with both external parties and colleagues across all Trident offices globally. Moreover, my role requires continuous professional education and up-to-date knowledge of new services/products and latest regulations, making my professional development journey exciting and meaningful.

What has been your greatest achievement?

What I take the most pleasure in is helping my teammates grow in their roles. I am also excited about our work in creating and growing our investment fund services offering in Cyprus. Helping to establishing our Corporate Social Responsibility committee and organising CSR activities has been very fulfilling too.

How has your business adapted in light of COVID-19?

I am proud to be a member of a firm that has put the security of its people first and has immediately reacted to the pandemic by adapting quickly and providing all the staff with the necessary tools to work remotely. This helped the staff work efficiently outside the office environment and offer clients uninterrupted service.

Why did you join PCD?

I really like the way David Bell and his team organize in-person seminars (when the circumstances allow) and more recently webinars. PCD seminars/webinars are not only focussed on providing information and knowledge, but also are structured in such a way to give members the opportunity to network. I have attended many webinars since the pandemic started and PCD is the only platform which allowed me to connect and interact with other professional attendees.

Have you attended a PCD webinar? What did you think?

I have attended as a participant but also as a speaker. Both experiences were great. David invites panellists to make reference to real examples and case studies, making the sessions more engaging and of interest to the audience. In addition, the interaction between different speakers definitely boosts and maximises audience engagement.

On a weekend, I am most likely found…

with my family exploring the beautiful nature of Cyprus.
