An Interview with Edouard Gueudet

What do you do for TrustQore?

As Managing Director of TrustQore (Switzerland) SA, I have the responsibility to head and develop the Swiss operations. Typically, my job consists in managing the Swiss team and the Swiss office, in making sure existing clients are fully satisfied with our services and in creating multiple opportunities to meet business partners and prospects and to explain what we do. I am also part of the TrustQore Group management team and I sit on the board in Switzerland, which allows me to work very closely with some colleagues on key topics such as strategy, processes, product offering, etc. The TrustQore brand is young, our biggest office today is in Mauritius where we have a team of about 90 people. However, the roots of TrustQore are deeply Swiss, from Geneva, where the story started in 2000. We are not a startup, and it is important that the people who do not know us yet are aware of that.

What do you love most about your role?

I love the fact that my role is multiple. I have to make sure that my colleagues in Switzerland are happy to come to work, I have to make sure that our clients are happy, I have to convince prospects that they will be happy and safe if they decide to work with us! I am doing a job where contact and human relations are extremely important. Building and strengthening relationships is something I have done for a long time, and I am happy that this continues to be a key element of my role every day. I love talking to clients and prospects and proposing structuring solutions for them and their family. I also appreciate working with people that are not only pragmatic, dynamic, and ambitious, but also rational and humble.

What has been your greatest achievement?

If we are talking about life in general, my greatest achievement has been to marry an extraordinary human being and to become the father of two amazing children. If we have to talk more strictly about a professional achievement, I will say that I have been able to reinvent myself and to take risks on several occasions. I have never hesitated to get out of comfort zones when I was convinced it was necessary. In today’s world, I consider this an accomplishment.

What type of intermediaries do you tend to work with?

I work with quite a few types of intermediaries. Acting as trustee in Switzerland, I maintain strong relationships with bankers, wealth planners, lawyers, and tax advisers. I also work with single family offices and independent asset managers. These intermediaries are either based in Switzerland or abroad. I like to work with intermediaries with whom I have a “good feeling” and where there are common values. At the end of the day, we share a common mission that is to serve our clients impeccably.

Why did you join PCD?

I have been working in the private client arena for many years and I joined PCD in 2019. It gave me the opportunity to meet other professionals based in various jurisdictions. I attended events in Geneva, Zurich, London, and Dubai. My colleagues in Mauritius are looking forward to going back to the events in South Africa and Kenya next year.

On a weekend, I am most likely found...

In the Saanenland in the winter and on Lake Geneva in the summer! I love skiing and I started snowshoeing last year. But more generally, I am most likely found with my wife, my daughter, and my son. Sometimes in the mountains, sometimes on the lake, but also perhaps on a golf course, on a tennis court, in a big city, at a show, in a museum... We are quite creative in finding family activities!
