Why did you join PCD?

We initially heard about the benefits of joining PCD from Rachael Bajard in our Isle of Man office who suggested we join as a Group. Rachael attended the first PCD Event when it launched in the Isle of Man in June 2017 and has developed some strong business relationships through the network.

Sancus has expanded quickly over the last 6 years and PCD has introduced our sales teams and CEO to new contacts and potential intermediaries across all our jurisdictions. David Bell is particularly skilled at placing the right people next to each other at each event.

The professional networking has been of particular benefit in Dublin and London where we have recently opened new offices and more recently in Geneva where we would like to generate more Euro and sterling Co-Funders.

Your top tip for attending a networking event with PCD is...

Enjoy it. Networking is a learned (and often uncomfortable) skill for most of us, but the people in the room are invariably friendly, open and keen to talk to you too. It's a very easy environment to meet new people. I always go alone, that forces me to seek people out.

What do you do for Sancus?

Richard has over 18 years' experience in various areas of finance, including asset backed lending, supply chain finance and trade finance.

His prior roles have included working at both independent and bank owned funders in the UK, Ireland and Germany, including Aldermore Bank, AIB Plc, and Royal Bank of Scotland Invoice Finance.

He has been integral in developing and delivering sales at a strategic level and has a track record in achieving performance objectives with a keen eye on returns. He has an excellent reputation in leadership roles within both sales and relationship management.

Richard became sales director at Sancus in June 2016 and works closely with the sales teams across all jurisdictions from Sancus' London office.
