What do you do for Mark Brooks Education?
I’m the co-director of Mark Brooks Education, an award-winning educational consultancy helping families across Africa and beyond with admissions into outstanding UK boarding and day schools. Two years ago my wife Tracey and I we were made a Department for Business & Trade “Export Champion” in recognition of our international promotion of UK schools.
What do you lost most about your role?
I get the most satisfaction from helping families find the right schools for their children and getting feedback years later. For example one father wrote to me recently “We once again thank you and your wife for all you have done to get our kids d best schools the UK has to offer. The kids have grown to become very confident and reasonably ambitious in the pursuit of their lifes' aspirations.
What has been your greatest achievment?
Certainly a highlight of our career was being invited to a Buckingham Palace Summer Garden Party two years ago in recognition of our services to families in West Africa.
What type of intermediaries/businesses do you tend to work with?
We work with a wide range of consultancies to high net worth families such as family offices, immigration advisors, and relocation experts. We are able to provide the missing piece in their jigsaw by providing educational solutions to their greatest investment - their children. We frequently advise the consultants themselves regarding their own daughter or son.
Why did you join PCD Club?
I am eternally grateful to Mo Baluchi for the introduction to David Bell and we clicked from the first Zoom. I really enjoyed the first event and everyone was so friendly and welcoming. We soon decided to become a silver sponsor of events to raise our profile and that was a wise move. We have visited some incredible destinations, met some remarkable and interesting people, gained very productive business and made a lot of friends. A highlight has been getting to know David and Sophie who have been really encouraging and inspiring and helped transform the direction of our business. The PCD team are wonderful too and great company!
On a weekend, I am most likely found...
At spin classes on Saturday morning (a disco on stationary bikes for grown-ups!), attending church, catching up on LinkedIn and going on walks or away in our new motorhome!
