Zurich panel: Cryptocurrency

ARQ Group are delighted to be sponsoring this lunchtime panel event in Zurich hosted by PCD Club on Thursday 13th September at the Blue Monkey. The format for the event is a panel discussion, followed by a networking lunch. Our panel of experts will discuss trends in Cryptocurrency & Blockchain technology, which has been confirmed as:

• Vishal Gupta, Founder, DIRO - A self-taught coder & inventor with 15+ patents, Vishal Gupta is a serial entrepreneur with more than 20 years of experience. He has scaled multiple businesses, including promoting one of the first Business Process Outsourcing company that forward integrated to virtual mobile network. Vishal is a speaker, thought leader in blockchain and the founder of DIRO - that solves the global identity problem. He is also a proponent of Self-sovereign Identities as a foundation layer for Universal Basic Income and a borderless democratic world.

• Marc Lanz, Co-Founder, eloom – Marc is a serial entrepreneur in the marketing and digital sphere. With more than 10+ years’ experience in the Marketing Sector for various businesses, Marc eventually went to successfully launching and running his own Marketing agency (Workandsun Canarias S.L.). After dipping into the digital world, he invented Fuertecoin together with a client and now business partner all the while learning and gathering as much information as possible about the possibilities of blockchain and cryptocurrencies for a future business model. Marc latest venture is eloom, a 100% green, self-sufficient open source power plant thanks to photo-voltaic and wind energy installation, with an eco-friendly hydrogen-based energy storage solution, which looks at how sustainable energy can be used to power blockchain applications.

• JP Fabri, Partner, ARQ Group - JP is responsible for economic and business intelligence within ARQ Group and oversees any assignments which require complex economic and business analysis. An economist by profession with a post-graduate degree in political economy from the London School of Economics, JP specialises in resilience-building strategies and is also a leading expert in Malta’s fast-evolving blockchain and cryptocurrency industry. His area of focus is crypto economics and tokenomics. He also has extensive experience in public policy. JP acquired in-depth experience at an international level as a member of the Expert Working Group tasked with reviewing the Resilience Framework adopted by the Commonwealth Secretariat. In this capacity he developed a governance framework as a tool for resilience building that has been implemented across nine states in the Caribbean, the Pacific and Africa. JP also headed the Communications and Investor Relations department of a leading London and Helsinki listed mining company, where he still acts as Group Board Secretary. Prior to this, he served for a number of years as a close aide to the former Prime Minister of Malta, Dr Lawrence Gonzi and the former Governor of the Central Bank of Malta. He currently lectures economics and political economy at at the University of Malta.

• David Borg, Partner, ARQ Group - David is responsible for business advisory services, including business development, tax structuring and corporate governance. He is a chartered accountant with broad experience in all aspects of accounting, financial management, real estate, taxation and business advisory. David is a founding partner of Capstone Group, a professional accounting and assurance firm established in 2010 that has secured a strong reputation in tax, financial, corporate, assurance and business development consultancy and services. This success led to the creation of ARQ Group in 2015, a move which consolidated the collaboration between the Group’s legal arm, Fenech Farrugia Fiott Legal, with Capstone Group. David’s industry experience prior to establishing Capstone Group is based on senior positions he held with leading international companies operating out of Malta, providing him with direct experience particularly in the oil & gas, real estate and tourism sectors. David is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (UK) and the Malta Institute of Accountants, as well as a member of the Malta Institute of Taxation and the Malta Institute of Financial Services Practitioners. He also sits on the Executive Board of Integra International, a global network of independent tax and audit professionals.

The audience will include fund managers active in the Cryptocurrency & Blockchain arena, law firms, trust & corporate service providers, private banks & wealth managers who advise HNW clients.
