Emma Nash - Family Law Partner, Fletcher Day, London. Emma has been practising family law since she qualified in 2011. Her practice covers all areas of family law but she has developed particular expertise in matters with an international element. In addition to international cases, Emma has worked extensively on complex financial disputes, private children cases, and cases involving trust assets, allegations of domestic abuse, paternity disputes and paternity fraud.
Emma has Higher Rights of Audience and is able to offer a comprehensive service to clients including representation at Court if necessary and has appeared at County Court and High Court levels.
Emma is also passionate about the development of family law and has contributed articles to the Family Law Journal, the International Family Law Journal and multiple online platforms. Emma writes her own blog 'Emma's Family Law Blog' to encourage debate on important issues and has spoken on Sky News and BBC Radio 4 as a family law expert. She has twice been shortlisted for Family Law Commentator of the Year.
Izzy Walsh - Partner, Hall Brown, London. Izzy advises on all aspects of family law, including pre and post nuptial agreements, cohabitation, divorce, dissolution of civil partnerships, financial settlements and children issues.
Izzy qualified as a solicitor at Magic Circle firm Herbert Smith, where she practised commercial law. She then transferred to become a family lawyer. Izzy has a particular focus on complex financial cases, often with an international dimension, including divorce, matters arising from cohabitation and in relation to unmarried parents, and pre- and post- nuptial agreements and wealth planning. Izzy is regularly instructed on matters which have a Russian/CIS element and which involve offshore corporate and trust structures.
Izzy's equestrian background (and love of horses) has also led to a number of instructions involving equestrian sports such as racing and eventing and she has represented elite athletes in this field.
Sally Beresford - Partner, Chartered Financial Planner, Tilney Financial Planning, Manchester. Sally joined Tilney in 2013 and is a Chartered Financial Planner, Fellow of the Personal Finance Society and Partner in the Financial Planning team. Sally provides Financial Planning advice to a range of clients mainly business owners, senior professionals and professional athletes and sits within the Tilney Divorce team. Sally advises clients at the time of Divorce, helping with education around financial planning and in providing an understanding of the financial implications divorce pre settlement. Post settlement, Sally advises on the restructuring of a client's wealth and pensions and ensuring the correct protection is in place, so a client is able to rebuild and move on independently.
Sally has a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from The University of Birmingham and has worked in Financial Services since 1999. She was a Finalist in the Women in Financial Advice Awards 2020.
Nina Lake - Partner, Howard Kennedy LLP, London. Nina is a Family Law Partner whose main practice focuses on both matrimonial and child related disputes as well as the drafting of pre and post nuptial agreement and issues concerning cohabitation.
Nina's clients are often high net worth individuals with international elements to their case and Nina has particular experience acting for clients who have complex multi-jurisdictional issues. Nina has been praised by clients for the "sympathetic and effective nature" in which she handles their matter, offering sensitivity towards client's needs during what is often a difficult time whilst also working hard to achieve effective solutions and results. Nina also works closely with a number of experts in other fields to ensure clients are provided with a complete service to cater for all of their needs, both internally at Howard Kennedy and externally with other professionals.
Faye Hall - Forensic Services Partner, Smith & Williamson, London & Bristol. Faye has specialised in forensic accounting for over 19 years with a particular focus on financial remedies for divorce proceedings, shareholder and partnership disputes, probate disputes and commercial disputes. She has valued companies across the UK and in offshore jurisdictions such as China and the US.
Faye has provided expert accountancy evidence in the High Court for both matrimonial and commercial proceedings as well as in the course of criminal proceedings and Arbitration.
She regularly presents at seminars and provides training to lawyers on valuing business assets for the purposes of matrimonial and commercial cases.
