Christopher Fisher - Relationship Manager, Middle East & North Africa Team, Standard Chartered Private Bank , London. Christopher has over 13 years of experience in International Private Banking and has had a focus on the Middle East market for the past decade. Prior to joining Standard Chartered, Christopher was a Private Banker at Coutts advising Middle East clients on their UK and Offshore banking and financial needs. Prior to Coutts, Christopher held relationship management roles at Credit Suisse and Barclays Wealth in London.
Christopher is a British-French dual national. He holds a Master's Degree from Neoma Business School, France, where he also spent time studying at the University of Bologna, Italy. Christopher is PCIAM and CeMAP qualified and is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Securities and Investments. He is fluent in English, French and Italian.
Mustafa Hussain - Private Office Legal Counsel, Accuro, London. Mustafa joined Accuro in January 2019 from leading international law firm Taylor Wessing LLP, where he was a corporate partner for several years, advising Royal families, single family offices, merchant trading dynasties and family businesses on their corporate investments, holdings and governance.
An expert in and veteran of advising clients from the Middle East, he also has extensive experience in emerging and frontier markets in Africa and Asia. Mustafa is an English qualified lawyer and was engaged in the development of the first Shariah compliant home finance offerings by British high street banks. His publications include within Islamic Finance A Practical Guide (Globe), Islamic Bonds (Euromoney) and Structuring Islamic Finance Transactions (Euromoney).
Mustafa also has extensive experience with Shariah succession planning and private client matters. Known for his aptitude in cross-border structuring, experience with trophy assets and commercial and cultural insight, pragmatism and diligence, he is a trusted advisor to a number of families and their privately controlled businesses.
Khurram Hilal - Managing Director, Head of Group Islamic Products, Standard Chartered, UAE. Khurram heads up the Global Islamic Products function for Standard Chartered Bank's Islamic banking business (SCB Saadiq). Over his 15 year long association with Saadiq he and his team have conceptualized, developed and built products and business across SCB network in Asia, Africa, Middle East, Europe and North America.
Khurram's product building experience covers all spheres of the banking business including retail, wealth management, private banking, corporate banking, transaction banking and treasury. He is credited with several groundbreaking and pioneering Islamic products including first Shariah compliant overdraft, Shariah compliant USD nostro facility, launch of the Saadiq Private bank and the ideation of the first Shariah compliant hedging product to name a few. He has been an active contributor to the Islamic banking industry and regularly provides advice to regulators and industry bodies.
Prior to joining SCB he was working with the largest Islamic bank in Pakistan as an Assistant Vice President in the corporate banking department. Khurram is privileged to have worked with and learnt from some of the top scholars in Islamic finance industry. He holds an MBA from the Institute of Business Administration, Karachi and a CFA from the CFA Institute, USA.
