Join us for a discussion on the latest trends from owner manager building & selling businesses from a tax, legal, wealth management and corporate finance perspective. COVID 19 & Brexit have created obstacles and headwinds for the UK, but there are some good news stories of entrepreneurial success against the odds. Our expert panel will bring you up to date on the latest trends.

The discussion will be hosted on Zoom and include a live discussion with a distinguished panel, followed by small group discussions using Breakout Rooms to enhance the networking and discussion. This will allow our members to interact directly with each other and the panelists. A full guest list will be circulated to those that attend.

We are delighted to be joined by the panelists below:

Rob Hodgson - Wealth Planner, Cazenove Capital, London. Rob is a Wealth Planner within Cazenove Capital's financial planning team and provides advice on complex investment structuring, pensions and holistic tax planning. He has spent several years at Lloyds Private Bank within their 'Mayfair' high net worth division, advising private and corporate clients on all aspects of wealth generation and preservation. He's also spent three years at an independently owned boutique, providing specialist structuring advice to private clients. Rob is a Chartered Financial Planner and Fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute with over 10 years' experience.

Tim Stocks - Managing Director, James Stocks & Co, London. Tim is a corporate financier, lawyer, and founder/managing director of James Stocks & Co. Incorporated in 2014, James Stocks & Co was established to provide corporate finance and fund raising services to the real estate and infrastructure sectors. James Stocks & Co has been active in the; residential (social housing, PRS and affordable sectors), leisure and hospitality, office development, self-storage and logistic sectors of real estate. James Stocks & Co publishes a highly regarded monthly newsletter on the Real Estate Investment Trust sector.

Before establishing James Stocks & Co, Tim was a lawyer and head of corporate finance at international law firm Taylor Wessing LLP. In this role he advised substantial listed and private companies on corporate transactions, corporate policy and strategy. Tim is the author of "Corporate Finance Law and Practice" and has contributed on corporate finance topics to the news media including The Financial Times, and CNN.

Paul Baker - Associate Director, Buzzacott, London. Paul is a US/UK dual qualified tax adviser with over 12 years' experience working with high-net-worth US citizens, small business owners, partners and US/UK dual qualified charities and foundations. He helps his clients navigate through both the US and UK tax systems, to ensure they are not double taxed, through offering proactive cross-border tax compliance services and bespoke personal US and UK tax advice tailored to individual circumstances.

In particular, Paul is an expert on the US Global Intangible Low Taxed Income (GILTI) regime and its impact on US citizens with holdings in controlled foreign corporations.

Stephen Jarvis - Corporate Partner & International Brand Ambassador, Ince Gordon Dadds, London. Stephen is a highly experienced corporate law specialist providing proactive business advice to domestic and international clients across a range of sectors. He is one of the firm's International Brand Ambassadors.

Stephen has a particular emphasis on all forms of cross-border M&A, complex joint ventures, commercial contracts, shareholder arrangements and company restructurings. Acting for public and private clients, as well as family businesses and ultra-high net worth individuals, Stephen is well travelled and well connected. His friendly and approachable style has led him to become the trusted advisor to a large and varied client base.
